I watched a two hour TV show called Cool Aid on Autralias channel ten alst night. The show was also called the national carbon test.
The show rode a little bit on the fear of climate change but did also provide the viewers with loads of tips and ideas on what to do to reduce their carbon emissions.
The national test, was similar to the test you can do here at the Ecoprofile website. Your lifestyle was assessed, food, transport, housing, consumption were included and a score was tallied up at the end of the show. The results will be presented in todays news report.
Another interesting segment in the show was when an environmental researcher followed a number of aussie stars (a surfer, a rockband, a model and an actress) in their lives to assess the carbon emissions from their behaviour, they were also ranked and assessed on the carbon scale.
I thougt the idea to make climate change in to some sort of entertainment was really cool. I hope more channels will do this in more countries. I think it was a good way to engage the public in theese issues.
Did anyone else see the show last night, or has anyone seen a similar one in your country?
